Been hell busier than before exams. Hence no time for blogging.
That explains why I slept for 4 hours 2 nights ago.
Oh wait. The 4 hours of sleep was because of Lego.
And manages to only have 7 hours of sleep everyday.

Hello people. I am not going to tell you guys how was my exam yesterday. Because exam is depressing. Lets talk about something that makes your heart blooms.

Sorry for any wrongdoing samade sengaje atau tak sengaje :)

As everyone might already know. 1st syawal was on Monday here in New Zealand. So we had to scratch the Sunday plan and proceed with plan B in which break-fasting with the dearest family from IMU (I called them family, yes. because they are my family). Call us anti-social and not mingling with other people, we dont mind. A small Eid celebration right after Maghrib prayer on the 1st of Syawal. A small gathering, yes I know. But at least we had our space, we enjoyed ourselves and we don't feel kekok because we know each other too well.

Though I had a disastrous morning, hey I still managed to smile. And laugh.

Sorry. This is gonna be a photo blog for a while. And maybe a long one.

Excuse moi for the wrong day. Sape tah yang tulis ni.

Instead of semayang raye, we opted for Maghrib berjemaah on the very first of Syawal.

Believe or not, I am going to miss Mike. My neighbour here in the same room in the ward I am staying at the moment. Please don't get discharged today. Or even tomorrow. :D No one will say 'morning' to me everytime I switch on the light and pull the certain in the morning. And no one will help me explaining why I am here to every new patient that comes in to our room. It's a room full of healthy patients, keep on communicating with each other and exchanging every mean of entertainment that they have. That's us. It's just 4 of us. Sometimes 3 or 2. Hurm, people comes and goes except us.

I had quite a few visitors yesterday. Of course everyone was wearing the student doctors nametag. They made my day. Thank you people!

Hey guess what people? I am in the hospital! Ok probably not a good idea. Hurm how to say this? I am in the hospital gown? Is that the correct way on how to tell people that a medical student was admitted to the hospital?

Don't panic! It was just for the IV augmentin.

Ok. Tipu.

That was initially for IV augmentin which apparently did not work.

I had FNA, CT scan bla bla which are going to cost me zillions of dollars.

I am technically feeling well. I can even run, you know. As the nurse told me, I look like the healthiest patient in the ward. Dan saye ade swipe card hospital. Saye mandi di bilik persalinan (bahasa Melayu is nice) pekerja. Tak maen la mandi dalam bilik patient. Nak gi berak pon carik tempat best.

Bored la to be admitted in the hospital in foreign country. No visitors. No family. No one to talk to. For the past 3 days Jiha, Izzah and Ida are my loyal visitors. They brought the yummillicous Malaysian food. At least I don’t have to eat creamy rice or pumpkin or tomato puree or even vanilla ice cream which doesn’t even taste like an ice cream. But they were only here for a maximum of 2 to 3 hours. I can't blame them though. We are 5 weeks away from super final exams. Nope, even I have to thank them for being here for me even we are in 5 weeks away from exams. Yer, study saye entah ke mane. Sungguh depressing. Mungkin patut masuk Te Whatu Tewhera.

Let see. It's Monday. The most favourite (ah tipu!) day ever in the whole world. And I started my first day of gastroenterology in Northshore Hospital. Still frustrated by the fact that I sent my application earlier then almost everyone (not including Ida because I sent the form with her) and I wasn't allocated in Auckland City Hospital and now I feel like complaining. Oh wait. Saye pelajar antarabangsa. Mungkin itu bukan idea yang bernas.

I walked for God-knows-how-long today. I stood for God-knows how long today. Because gastroenterology is all about putting a scope with a camera down your throat. Shut up if you can't see the relation between the previous 3 sentences, or I'll shoot your brain to death. Or maybe I'll put a scope through your throat and purposely perforate all your intra-abdominal organs. Oh that would be a better idea I think.

I need to study. I am unbelievably a nerd. I don't mind people calling me a nerd now. Call me a nerd and I promise I'll be smiling happily at you. Trust me.

10 more weeks before home baby!
10 more weeks before I get to see mak and abah (yang hopefully abah makin kurus! haha)

Hey it's 5.32 am in the morning. I just had sate goreng for my sahur. It was superb I would say. I wonder if I can persuade her to make the real one during raye together with Fiza's kuah kacang. Hurm. We'll see. Nyum nyum.

I haven't wish everyone properly, but hey Ramadhan Mubarak people! Hope this one would be better than the previous one. As one of my friend here status-ing in YM, its the month for shopping!!!!! Not like materials-new-apparels-and-heels shopping. But for the amal ibadah. :)

My Ramadhan has been good so far. I am now having my oh-finally-I-have-a-one-week-holiday-in-a-year. Well, I would not call it a holiday in the first place because it's time to get our ass glued to the chair and start opening the piles of untouched lecture notes. Guess I don't have a break at all in one year, aight? And guess Auckland University really wanna be a good doctors-factory aight? Oh dear.

I have a high goal for this holiday because I am going to have my next posting not in the Auckland City Hospital plus I heard both teams of specialty medicines that I am going to join are not cruisy teams. Hopefully not hard-out, I had enough of those. Hopefully just not cruisy. Oh yes, back to the topic, having high target means that I am supposed to dig myself more in the oh-so-not-interesting-lecture-notes-coz-everything-is-yellow-this-year. I don't want to put a high expectation on my next rotation, but travelling to the hospital would cost me, of course extra money that I can't claim to the JPA because someone made it to be that way (oh shut up Fiqah. get over it!) and my study time. Yes, that would explain why I am aiming high during this so-called 'break'. (I have this attitude of going round and round and round before reaching the main point that would like to deliver. At least I have my main point. Unlike omputih who tends to go round and round and round when the bossess asked, but they don't really have a point there. Just acting smart when English is your first language. Pause, there. It's Ramadhan. Breathe.) Already in the middle of the holiday, (damn, can someone please stop the time for me. I need Hiro Nakamura. But no, I do not wan't to be the want one of those who are static) I think that my goal is out of nowhere to be reached. Haha.

Oh this might be more interesting then the previous paragraph. Hey, we won't have a study break for our super final exams in our medical degree. (No, we are not having exams next year, insyaAllah. Just long cases) Now, probably you wanna say it out loud. Not just a quality-doctors-factory, but also doctors who can work and survive with stressful occasions.

Oh God, give me the strength. Please. Give the barakah during this holly month.

And and and and. To add to the misery, I also have OTHER things in my mind. Thank you for that. Yes, you.

And to the ever lovely and handsome neighbours of Joyah and Gayah, opsie sorry, Anwar and Najib, please don't kick our door when you guys are going out for the free break-fast in the musolla and of course coming back from the musolla. You know, we might be in the middle of our teraweh tau. And you might need to pay for the door if anything happens in the future. Takut tak?

Untuk menambah dan improve coffee machine (hot chocolate or mocca in my case) in hospitals

Outcome: better quality kerja di kalangan STUDENTS, and other staffs

Jika mahu dapat distinction: boleh present kepada District Health Board

Mine

Untuk memberi allowance kepade international trainee interns. Adelah tidak adil kerane locals dapat lebih dari 20k per year. Tak sure pulak berape seminggu. NZD500 kot. Or more. Or less.

Outcome: better quality kerja di kalangan international trainee interns. Dapat makan makanan yang lebih berkhasiat. Mungkin dapat beli kereta juge. Jadik takde la terkial2 buat muke kesian dekat registrar mintak balik awal sebab last train pukul 8.30 malam. Haish. work load same banyak. Hasil ilek.

Jika mahu dapat distinction: mungkin boleh present dekat parliment dekat Wellington

Prepare to vomit my lovely readers. One of my friends asked for the murtabak recipi. :)
Refer to the older post in which I made them for my bosses during my last day of surgery posting.

Kepade cik Siti Dalilah Meli, inilah resipi
Sorry sebab delay

Ingredients (adjust sendiri untuk quantity okeh)

Untuk inti:

Minced beaf (boleh jugak letak ayam atau lamb suke ati asal bahgia sudah)
Bawang besar
Garlic
Ginger
Telur
Curry powder
Garam gula dan sebagainye

Untuk kulit murtabak:

Ciri2 manusia yang boleh beli kulit popiah siap adelah orang dok obersi dan malas serta takde mase. Selain dari orang2 berikut, boleh la canai tepung sendirik yer tuan2 dan puan2.

Instructions:

a) Chop bawang besar ngan garlic tuh kecik2. Ginger pon boleh la skali bantai.

b) Tumis bawang, garlic, ginger sampai naik bau.

c) Masukkan minced beaf ngan serbuk kari. Masak sampai kering. Oh lupe nak mention, nak letak potatoes pon boleh. Rase ari tuh mcm letak. Hurm tak ingat la Kiah oi. Dah lebih 6 bulan.

d) Jangan lupe tambah garam bla bla bla. (ok maaf tukang type nih tak reti bagi instructions memasak)

e) Penting untuk biarkan bende alah yang dah siap masak tuh sejuk ke room temperature.

f) Ketuk-ketuk telur (depends la dengan berape banyak inti korang buat), pastuh campurkan telur dengan bende alah inti yang dah masak tuh. Jangan sampai cair sangat pulak. Agak-agak la boleh letak atas kulit popiah tuh nanti. Ade orang suke potong bawang kecik2, masok skali dengan bawan, suke ati gak.

g) Letak inti atas kulit popiah, lipat supaye rupe die jadik mcm murtabak ok.

h) Pastuh goreng! Careful takut terbocor plak. Boleh je nak lipat klit popiah tuh gune telur gak bagik die lekat.

a weekend at the world heritage area

I am not sure whether a warning is necessary or not here. Well, it might be a long post. Or a brief photo-blog-ish.

I have been planning for a ski trip for ages since I had not been to one before. And looking at the weather forecast a few days before last weekend (not this weekend obviously because I am blogging about it now) I was so sure that I wanted to go. And I didn't mind with just dragging the boring-ish Izzah alone. Hahah. Sorry babe.

Then we came up with a plan.

A surprise birthday plan.

It was Jiha's birthday on the 5th of August. Being typical good friends, Ida, Izzah and I did not mentioned a word about her birthday. Not even a wish. At all I mean.

Jiha does not like to go for a vacation with us. (apparently. sob sob) Haha. So we dragged the whole gang into the plan. Don't get me wrong, guys. The whole clan joining the trip, is not a way to ask Jiha to come along with us. We thought that it might be a good idea to have a good girls only weekend trip.

With a few bumps that we had, not going to mention all. But, all the 7 seaters van/estima type of cars were sold out during the weekend. Blame the beautiful weather. Everyone was away from Auckland. And the efforts and process that we had to go through to find a 1 night accomodation. We ended up with 2 nights accomodation. Convenient. And staying for 2 nights is the rule. Yada yada yada.

Itu saye tidak mahu bagitahu. Tapi saye telah melakukan satu perkara keji lagi hina untuk mengetahui rupa bentuk dan mungkin warne tengkorak itu. Isu ini saye amat malas untuk mengulas dengan lebih lanjut. Kerana sekiranya saye berbuat demikian, ia akan memberi klue siapakah diri kamu. Dan itu bukanlah agenda utama saye dalam penulisan ini.

Selain daripada itu, saye juge tidak begitu berkenan dengan sifat kamu yang suke menyampuk orang laen bercakap. Ini adat orang Melayu. Kita bukan orang putih rambut kuning, kite orang Melayu. Kamu pasti bingung bagaimana pule saye boleh komen tentang care kamu berbahasa. Tuh namenye saye sudah kenal kamu dengan agak lame. Saye kenal kamu, itu saye yakin. Janganlah kamu cube menunjukkan sikap kamu yang pura2 tahu itu. Janganlah kamu cube bersikap konon2 kamu tahu lebih dari orang laen, dan seboleh2 kamu ingin menegakkan benang yang kadang2 basah. Akhirnya saye jugak menang kerana saye jugak yang benar. Haha.

Juge, elakkanlah dari mengambil kredit hasil usaha orang laen. Ini memang atitude kamu yang saye kurang berkenan juge. Tapi takpe, saye bertahan. Fikirlah, kamu. Sudah terlalu banyak saye perhatikan ini. Contohnye ade seorang rakan bertungkus lumus memerah keringat membuat sesuatu, kamu pule tolong lihat dari jauh. Lalu akhirnya bile berjumpe orang awam laen, kate it usaha kamu dan rakan kamu. Usahakah kalau sekadar menonton?

I haven't been updating much for the past 1 week. It's because the presence of her in Auckland, New Zealand.

Her name is Hana, a smart, cute 2 year old who talks like a 4 year old. Of course she's here with her mummy and daddy. And nana and atok. :)

I went to the airport with airbus on last Saturday and brought them to the superb, spacious, dreamable, wantable, 2 bedrooms Waldorf St Martin Lane, of course in Auckland City.

I think the bathroom might be spacious-er compared to my room, which is the biggest room in my unit. Mari gelak.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA.
Okey. Stop it. Tak boleh lame-lame. Orang tua-tua cakap nanti ilmu keluar.

I brought them to Queen Street and Foodtown to buy some necessary items.
Of course, exhausted. Not to mention, carrying the heavy plastic bags and the long walkings.
And I brought the mummy and daddy and atok to Newmarket on the Sunday, to open a bank account, since it's the nearest branch that opens on weekends. Bought Hana another set of apparels. Oh, I always love Pumpkin Patch. Can I have an adult version of Pumpkin Patch?

I think I havent mentioned this. They are here because Kak Dela is going to start her phd soon. How on earth am I related to Kak Dela when I only have a few close cousins? She's my sister-in-law's cousin. That makes Athirot and Hana, second cousins. See the similarity?

Oh. I missed Irfan's 24th birthday party last weekend. :(
Uhuk uhuk. It was ages ago since we had a get-together kind of thing.
And I wonder when is gonna be the next one.
And with the killer exams coming, mind you without a study break, I think I am gonna get myself grounded.

Kak Dela, Hezli and Hana moved to a new apartment in Eden Crescent at downtown area a day before yesterday. I helped them with the car and the moving process. I borrowed Ana's car. Malu jugak sebab tak pernah pinjam kereta die tapi takpe.

Oh oh oh. A random one. The daddy is ex-Piji's classmate. And they met after a few years in Symonds Street. So, yes. I dragged Piji to help with the moving process as well.

Again, another exhausted weekend.

Yesterday, we rent a car to do some shopping for the newly moved family. And guess what car la woi?

Ford Focus 1.6L Hatch Automatic woi! But I like the tango colour much better. I am sooo falling in love with this one. Who has an extra NZD31,599? That would be a good investment. Haha. Siap surveyed Malaysia's Ford website. They don't have the same model. But they have a cooler model with more expensive price.

Now, who has an extra RM122,888, so that I can buy the 2.0L Sport?
Haha. Abah kate, stick with the Honda City la. :D

Okeh. Whatelse? Oh the big news. I am now 'handicapped'. Maybe lain kali bawak kereta boleh amik handicapped parking space. My mobile phone sudah koma. I am now using Kak Dela's phone for a while. But I have to get a new one a.s.a.p. because I don't want to borrow other ppl's phone for too long. The idea is to get a NZD20 phone (do you reckon I am gonna succeed?) and survey the real one when I have time. Thinking of it, maybe I should get an Iphone since I am in NZ and it offers the cheapest price in the whole world.

But people, I am broke! Ok, not broke! But I am trying to save as much as I can. For the future travels bla bla bla. I wasn't born with the gold spoon in my mouth. (ok. that's new. haha. not only neologismist) And I already spent zillions of money last month. Not to forget the NZD180 internet that we have to pay, ok NZD60 per person. I was thinking of getting the 1GB and be a selfish one, so that I can have an extra NZD20. For God sake, I havent watch TV2 ondemand for ages, for weeks, even I hardly visit youtube. And tell me why am I paying NZD60 again?

I am a happy girl today. So, I blog about happy stuffs. :D Or probably not so happy. Hurm. Ade kekeliruan di sini.

When people ask what's my most favourite Micheal Jackson's song, I would say You Are Not Alone. What's your number two favourite song? I would say, Will You Be There. See the similarity?

In fact, they were the only 2 Micheal Jackson's songs in my playlist before the death of the singer. Lihat betape kegembiraannye saye terhadap cerite itu? Oh mungkin cikgu Bahasa Melayu akan geleng pale bile tengok grammar yang berterabur.

Yes. Yes. Keiko the whale. Or Willy the whale. It is still fresh in my mind how badly I wanted an orca as my pet during that time. (just like I wanted a dragon badly when I watched Aragon or a lion when I watched Narnia) I miss him. :( He died at the age of 27 in 2003 from pneumonia. Keiko itself means 'Lucky One' in Japanese. And sure he was lucky, living with the humans and being the main actor for the Free Willy movies.

I haven't watch any orca aquaria performance. I bet it will definitely reminisce my childhood dream-pet when I watch it.

I just couldn't get enough with only watching the movies, I bought (or my brother) the soundtrack cassete and played it for zillions times in the car. My brother and I have a favourite soundtrack in which it was played when Willy jumped over the rock in the ending of the first movie. And it showed how badly I love the movie when I could tell every scene in the movie that correlates with the can't-remember-how-many-minutes-breathtaking-music. Yes. I am neologismist. (again. was that a word?) Hurm. I woke up in the morning, feeling draggy as usual to go to the clinic. Blame the weather. It is freezing!! Naik bulu roma (bukti ibumertua teramat sayang) tangan.

Had my 30-minutes-express-shower-get-ready-had-breakfast-and-wooohoooo-still-able-to-revise-Jones-criteria since I scheduled myself for a cardiology paediatric clinic. Little that I know, the clinic is separate from other paediatric specialties clinic. It's in its own paediatric cardiology department. Being a truely Asian, I approached the receptionist with the sweetest smile that you guys could not imagine. Then, I was told that they never had a morning cardiolgy clinic. Dalam hati saye kate begini - why on earth did you put 2 cardiology clinics in the red book for God sake? Don't you understand how much time did I spent to get ready to come to work today? Of course I didn't that out loud. Come on, people! I might be neologismist, but I am still a truely Asian yang penuh dengan budi bahasa. I thanked her and texted Izzah.

On the other hand, Izzah's ORL paediatric clinic was cancelled as well. Apparently, all ORL specialists are now in Fiji for a conference.

We decided to have a go with chronic-patient hunting for our case history. And guess what, with all the HARD WORK, we managed to get a combo of chronic paediatric and lab medicine case as well. Seriously guys, you do not know how much works we have to do to get a patient. Like seriously. With hop-in-hop-off ward and clinical notes hunting and. Ok. Stop it Fiqah. We get what you wanna tell us.

Then I was like this:
I went back. Had my lunch. Wasting time with the bloody-expensive internet. As always. Then got myself ready for a 3pm bedside teaching. Again I din't feel like going, but still, I grabbed the umbrella and jacket-yang-busuk meredah ujan walked to the hospital. Guess what people. Wooott woot. Teaching was postponed. Who am I going to blame for the suicidal that I have now? Bleh. Penat jek tukar baju.

I have been updating quite frequently nowadays equals to I am bored and have nothing to do but to stare at my computer. How amazing is that?

I went to the ward round today, well, planned to go to the ward round and later that we know I am allocated in the specialty medicine paediatric ward. Most of the registrars and consultants are working by themselves. Like for example, renal team only has 2 patients in the list. Being very typical us, Danny (yes, him again), Jamie and I decided to call it a day (yes, at 9 o'clock).

Then I decided to not waste my time and effort of waking up early in the morning, hence tried to find a case for my first case report. I went to general paediatric ward to see if the 6 weeks-old-pneumococcal-meningitis-Maori-baby that we saw during the bedside teaching is good (means non-complicated and straight forward) candidate. As expected, complacated-ish. Then I went through Izzah's patients list (yes, Izzah had a ward round. nice) and tried to figure out which patient is lucky enough to be my victim. I went through a patient's notes who was diagnosed with bronchilitis. I checked his bloods and had my eyes fixed on the influenza screening. *positive for influenza A but sample is insufficient for sub-something-something. can't remember the exact term* But I think he's going to be discharged today. Mungkin saye yang tak reti bace blood results dan viral serology. Hurm. Malas mahu layan diri sendirik, malas mahu pikir ape nak wat, guess what I did.

Home la weh.

But, I am determine to find 1 case tomorrow. Like seriously.

Oh, I just know that another batchmate is getting married. What? Why? Musim kawen teramat sangat la nih. Urgh. Some are getting engaged. Woi woi sabar boleh tak? Camne nak pegi kalau aku kat New Zealand yg best amat nih.

Iqin is getting married this weekend. Olie's turn is 2 weeks from now. Sue's wedding was last last last week. A few that I know are getting engaged. Kenape budak Wira sume nak kawen. Baity bile lagik?

So I decided to keluar je walaupon dengan Nuex senget. I don't wanna drag her later to have dinner or lunch togerther coz she's gonna be extremely busy packing and catching up with other friends as well.

It was the most hectic week in my entire medical proffesion. (ecececeh)
I was not in my bestest emotion as well.

Imagine you have OSCE or exams on Friday. And you are expected to be in the hospital till 10pm on Monday. Not to mention the long-ish-post-acute-ward-round-in-which-the-consultants-drill-you-till-tou-feel-like-you-are-not-the-stupidest-medical-student-on-earth-but-apparently-the-bossess-told-you-that-you-maybe-are. Plus the gynae clinic and antenatal clinic despite the fact that you don't have time to sit and literally study from the lecture notes. I know experiences are important. But making my ass glued to the chair to read the pile of notes is crucial too. I nearly had a panic attack when I know that I wont have time to study. My colleagues were in library and home reading and practising for OSCE. But guess what Danny and I had to do a few days before the exam?

Anywooot, overall summary of O&G

1) Assisted 1 Caesarian section, observed 2 normal vaginal deliveries, performed 2 normal vaginal deliveries, assisted in 3 ventouse deliveries
2) Did suturing for episiotomy (clap clap weh)
3) Did a total of 6 speculum examinations. Maybe more. I am probably a speculum expert now
4) Did a few swabs and smears as well
5) Inserted a ring pessery for a patient with vaginal prolapse
6) The only run in which I went home later than 4.30pm EVERYDAY. Ok. Almost everyday. Maybe a couple or 3 days dapat pulang ke pangkal jalan dengan awal.
7) I think IMU students ramai specialize in O&G. I heard that we even have an O&G consultant from IMU. But I don't know her. I know a couple of Malaysian house surgeons as well as a few registrars. But they are not in my team, of course.
8) Ade midwife kat National Women Health, Auckland City Hospital kene swine flu
9) Ade kawan saye siap scrub in for Caesarian section of a H1N1 positive patient
10) What else. Hurm. I desperately need my paeds to be cruisy
11) And of course, hoping to pass the OSCE
12) And and and, I don't have flu symptoms

My life has not been turning upside down. *in case anyone is wondering* I am still functioning well and can't afford not to because it won't be good for me and the future and the carrier.

O&G is keeping me busy. And I am done with my presentation though wasn't really satisfied with my O&G ones. It was not the easiest topic and I talked to someone who was-still-my-favourite-person-but-do-not-want-to-admit-it on the night before and it sort of made me drown for a few seconds before I realize that I am still breathing. Noktah.

Neonatal presentation went fine though it was not the most specific topic ever.

I had a ventouse delivery case. Yeay to me. A total of 5. Performed 2 and assisted with 3.

What else. Oh I am finally going to have a nice weekend starting from tonight since I 'worked' last weekend but thinking of it, I probably have to study. The close friend who is studying in Newcastle in which I haven't seen her for ages is going to be in Auckland next weekend. I desperately need to spend some time with her, hence explaining why I 'might' have to study this weekend. * hurm probably not clear enough, I am gonna have 14 stations of O&G OSCE on next next Friday*

Talking about weekends. I went for this last weekend.

Wooohoo. I never thought that I would have a chance to watch a theatre performance in New Zealand but I did. My 40 bucks concession price was totally worth it. Now I could announce to the whole world that I have been to the largest theatre in New Zealand. The architectural part of the theatre was awesome. Like seriously. I wish I has SLR with me during that time. Of course another wish would be to allow taking pictures in the theatre itself.

Talking about the performance. They were really cute. I din't really know the plot of Cats before I watched it. Yes, apparently I did not do the homework. Haha. But the musics were great. The makeup and costumes were awesome. And of course, fabulous! *balik rumah baru buat homework* Maklumla busy gi hospital kan.

That was on Saturday.

A friend invited me to join a-get-together-kind-of-thing which involve watching Terminator on Friday night but I turned him down *in a nice way* by saying that I might need a break that night because again, I was going to work during that weekend and yes I had a busy week. Little that I know, Nuex Najib would about to ask for a Hulu-cat session which I totally didnt mind becuase I dint have to use any part of my brain to drink a glass of pearl tea.

It was in conjunction with Najib's birthday. Yela, ari tuh Nuex punye birthday pegi dinner ngan maen arcade. Walaupon Najib tuh makhluk kejam tak berperasaan, tapi being a typical me, I love to at least be there for someone's birthday. And as predicted the guys went to arcade on Sunday and I couldn;t join them because I had my night shift on Sunday, which explained why I needed some decent rest. LOL

Talking about birthdays, *bile entry nih nak abis woi* it was Puteri's birthday yesterday and we had our dinner in Nandos. And of course played some stupid games in arcade. :D

Now is probably a good time to end this entry. I have to perform my Maghrib prayer, take some decent Friday night shower and later clean the dust around the entertainment area of my room a.k.a television. *semalam Nuex datang kengkonon nak betuk tv lalu realize wah sungguh menjijikkan tv ini rase mahu menyorok bawah meja sebab kemaluan urgh*

I did not buy a 5 dollars ring as well.
I did not spent some times in the accessories-shops as well.

Hey peeps. You might or might not know that I am doing obstetric and gynaecology at the moment. It started with the 2 days of b000h-ring introductory lectures. Not to forget the frustration that I have to endure whenever I think that I know stuffs, but I couldn't really dig it from my brain. Hard work, people.

4 weeks of hard work in reproductory system--->wasted!! dush!!!!

I was allocated in the hard-out team together with Danny and Pooja. Somehow, I tend to have them as my partners. Awesome kan? :) We were supposed to start our day with a gynae clinic but it was cancelled. Good? Bad? BAD!!!!! Now I have to replace the clinic that I missed. Urgh. I called my super-nice-registrar-whom-apparently-gonna-be-in-another-team-next-week and we were asked to prepare ourselves for the antenatal clinic tomorrow.

The clinic started at 9am. But Danny and I were in Greenlane Hospital at 830am. How unusually amazing was that huh? Sile tepuk tangan. We were given a briefing on how the team works. CRAP IT IS SCARY. GOD HELP ME, I PROMISE I'LL BE NICE TO OMPUTIH DAN CUBE KURANG MENGUMPAT MEREKA!!!

Turn out, that they are super nice. As in, I think students won't get scolded if we don't do anything stupid in the team. And and and, I was with the super-nice-registrar-whom-I-called-the-day-before and I examine a few tummies. Wooohoooo. And she was like, uh-uh good, you did your homework.

On the next day, I went to the private antenatal, located right behind the museum which was again, AWESOME!! Okeh entry ini adelah entry senyum sampai telinge, kalau tak larat bace, takyah bace okeh.

Anywoootttttt. I had my DU (delivery unit) session yesterday. I was the luckiest person on earth when I got the chance to observe 1 delivery 20 minutes after the midwives handover and performed another 2 deliveries. A TOTAL OF 3 WOI!!! Mind you, dalam card itu tulis, delivered by:med stdnt, Afiqah Ayob. Sile tepuk tangan ramai2 dan lame2 skit plis. I am sooooooooooo happy. I feel like climbing the top of skytower. (okeh tak menarik langsung contoh itu) Terus rase nak jadik obstetrician boleh tak? Okeh ini jangan bagitau org laen tau, I balik pukul 3 sebab sume midwives tuh cakap I did a good job and had enough for that day. Jadik suruh balik rehat. Shhhhhhhhhh..

Feels macam BMI shooting up sebab bukan sahaje ~~bontot~~ punggung mengembang, malah sume anggota di badan I mengembang.

Nak suruh orang bersabar sangat senang tapi nak suruh diri sendiri bersabar bukan perkara yang mudah. Senang atau susah untuk bersabar bergantung kepada seseorang, persekitaran dan masa. Sebenarnya kita dituntut supaya bersabar kerana banyak hikmahnya.

Pertama, dapat mengelakkan daripada penyakit. Jika kita tidak sabar tentu hati dan fikiran serta perjalanan darah dalam diri kita akan terganggu. Contohnya katakan jika kita terlampau marah kepada seseorang kerana ia telah menjatuhkan air muka kita di depan orang ramai maka kita pun tidak sabar dengan terus bertindak balas atau menyerangnya di depan orang ramai juga. Pada masa itu denyutan jantung kita semakin laju dan tekanan darah akan bertambah. Akibatnya jika kita terus bersikap demikian sudah pasti lama-kelamaan kita mungkin diserang sakit jantung atau darah tinggi.

Kedua, dapat mengekalkan hubungan silaturahim. Bila orang melihat sikap kita yang sentiasa bersabar menyebabkan mereka merasa senang dengan kita dan mereka ingin mengekalkan hubungan yang baik dengan kita.

Ketiga, Tuhan akan sentiasa bersama dengan orang yang sabar. Sabar itu adalah separuh daripada iman.

Keempat, amalan bersabar boleh menyebabkan fikiran kita menjadi lapang dan tenang. Mungkin semasa kesusahan tidak berlaku kesenangan tetapi selepas itu barulah kita merasakannya.

Kelima, kajian telah mendapati ketika kita marah berjuta-juta sel dalam darah kita akan mati sedangkan sel-sel tersebut adalah penting untuk kita. Bagi mengelakkan kematian sel yang banyak ia perlu disekat dengan cara menghentikan kemarahan iaitu bersabar.

Walaupun pepatah ada mengatakan bahawa seberat-berat mata memandang berat lagi bahu memikul namun mengamalkan kesabaran sedikit sebanyak dapat meringankan bebanan atau kesusahan yang sedang kita alami.

Do not be mad at me. I know. 3 posts in one day. It doesn't make any sense. Please don't be mad at me. Please. I just want to occupy myself. I just wish that I could forget what I want to forget and remember what I want to remember. Why can't we just choose? Why can't we just decide what we want to have in our memory space. Why?

Anyway, I was being extremely 'hyper' from God-knows when. Ok. Not extreme. I am 'hyper' in some ways. But anyway who cares.

I had dinner with IMU people yesterday. Sort of juniors-seniors meeting. Feels good to know the non-malays juniors as well. Of course I know all the Malay juniors la kan. And as being told, I was 'hyper'.

Lan's graduation was on Friday. It's gonna take exactly 2 years for me to attend mine. I am hoping that I am able to come back to Auckland for the ceremony. You know, we finished at the end of the year, but it's gonna be an autumn ceremony. Well, Azri managed to squeeze his Auckland graduation trip into his busy housemanship carrier kan. Finger cross, I'll do the same thing. I was not in the graduation-main-main-yang-konon-macam-grad-tapi-takde-degree-camne-nak-grad-la-kan in IMU because I was in UK accompanying my sister in law after the Athirah was born. I did not regret that. Bukan dapat degree pown. Oh puhleaseeeee. *sambil pejam mate wishing and praying*

Rina's flight was around afternoon, I THINK. And Lan's flight was at 4pm to Gold Coast. I helped him to carry his bags to the bus stop. I offered myself to send Lan and his mom personally at the airport tapi nicely Lan tolak my offer. I feel guilty in some ways. I should have insist knowing that they have 7 items to carry. Haih. Well, I hope they had a safe journey back home.

Having a transit in Australia does not allow Lan to bring back the flowers that we bought for him. So he left the flowers with me. I love fresh flowers. Heheh. Terima kaseh encik!

Hope to see you guys very soon. Though we are now in 3 different places, 3 different islands, doing 3 different things, I honestly feel that our friendship is something spectacularly amazing. On how we managed to know each other and being close with each other despites 3 almost different personality, or maybe 2. Hahah. Yer, Lan seorang kanak2 yang baik. :P

After what happened to me last week, I managed to breathe though not fully recovered. At least I can breathe, you know. I need the oxygen. Or else, I'll die. OK. Stop reading. It's gonna be a crappy blog. I told you to stop la. Suke ati asal bahgia sudah.

Anywooooot. I finished a week of lecture blog. Gosh. How long was that. Yikes. A few hours and tadaaaaaa, we are done with renal. I really do not get how they absorb such a huge topic in hurm, 4 hours? OMG. Now I desperately need to catch up my drama series and my studies, I mean my studies and drama series. Who cares what goes first kan. Endocrine, nutrition bla bla bla. Nanti la ok.

Lan landed in Auckland on Monday. I met her mom on Tuesday and they went off to Rotorua for a day trip. How the hell do I know Lan? Please don't ask. Penat la kena cerita.

And. My friend was in Auckland for the second time. Oh. Saye gembire ok sampai rase nak senyum hingge ke telinge. Kerane saye rase bile kawan saye datang, saye lupe masalah. Kalau tak lupe pon, saye lepas sume masalah kat die tanpe segan silu atau rase marah sedeh malu menyampah benci geram hina serta perasaan yang lain.

She arrived on Thursday, which was not the best day untuk terima a guest. Reason being, I had a class until 4pm. Nope, I din't have class till afternoon. But I had to go to a hospice centre in Northshore. And gosh. It was raining. Post about it later la ok.

The point is, I finally got to meet the beloved friend around 6pm. And I met Lan again when he came back from Rotorua around 8 I think. We had dinner with Lan's mom, Efa and her mom at K Road. Then being gila as always, Rina and I arrived in my super expensive VIP living at Whitaker Place around 12-ish am. Of course, with cab.

I was so tired. I din't eat properly on that day. I had to deal with the heavy rain. I walked a lot. And of course talked and screamed a lot. But it was all paid off. I love my day. I finished my selective report and finally got some decent sleep probably around 4am.

In the morning, we were supposed to go for breakfast in the Faculty of Engineering around 8am but we missed that. Hey, cut me some slack la weh. I slept at 4am. :) Oh I haven't mentioned about the plan for our outfit kan? We planned to wear the traditional attire. Tapi RIna bengong bawak baju macam nak tunang. Muahahahahaha. OK. Then we wanted to wear anything with knee long boots but I couldn't find some proper top to enter the hall. Of course I don't want to be kicked out from the hall and miss my close friend's gradualtion ceremony after being given the opportunity to do so kan? Being a typical-me-who-does-not-now-how-to-make-a-decision, Rina made the decision for us. Yes, traditional clothes. Huh, and with high heels. I bagi Rina pinjam my black boots sebab takut die tak biase dengan heels kat Auckland yang hilly and of course it's freezing now.

We had our lunch at Nandos then we went back to the hall because Lan wanted to settle his photography session. Next we headed to Albert Park and guess what. Everyone dekat situ.

It rained heavily and we opted to walk to quad in city campus. We were randomly joined by Syed and this was what happened.

Being a typical Syed, everyone knows him. A few of his mates graduated as well. That explained why he was in the park as well.

And blame in on Syed, we din't get the chance to snap a nice picture of 3 of us, unlike the previous gathering in which we had heaps. Hahah. Semua Syed punye pasal tak reti amik gambar. Cis cis. Huhuh.

We sent Lan's mom back to the hotel and decided to hop into the train to Sylvia Park. With kebaye and heels. Yes yes. Rina wanted to get something and we checked in the internet, the shop that offers the nearest and cheapest product that she wants is in Sylvia park. Plus boutiques in Sylvia Park are apparently and mostly close at 9 which is lateeeeeeeer compared to the Queen Street's.

Oh. And it was ****** frustrating when we din't get to buy the product because it was out of stock. Boleh tak bagitau awal2 jangan bagik harapan weh. Penat kitorang bincang carik internet cafe, survey balik, aku sepuk tarik telinge cungkil mate kang. Oh melampau pule saye. Ampun.

We had kebab for dinner and talked and talked and talked at my place until we realized that it was nearly 12.30am. We packed our bags, called the cab company and went to Rina's place. I used to be a die-hard-fan of Honda Jazz and still am if a random person would buy one for me. Kecik tapak tangan, Danga Bay saye tadahkan. But it would cost me 105k la. Unless if I work in Langkawi, which is not a bad option at all since my parents are going to settle down in Sungai Petani, then I get to buy it with 60+k. Living in a state, or to be precise, an area which is 5 minutes away from the Immegresion *I just figured out that I didn't know how to spell the word, in English AND Malay* Complex, we are surrounded by lots of gorgeous Singaporean cars. Seriously. That's one part yang saye adore SIN. Oh my. *sambil menjilat jari* Mind you, this weird hobby of observing Singaporean cars is not new for me tau, bukan dari I dapat lesen, but since forever la. I can't remember. But the point is, I fell in love with the hot Mazda 3. Then I worry about what to do if anything happen to the car (in this case, IF I BUY THE CAR LA KAN. harap maklum) sebab tak banyak Mazda punye service center. And being abah's daughter, I think I will only opt for the original spare parts and stuffs. I know I won;t have any problem if I am in where I am at the moment because I can technically see SIN from my place now. Hurm. We'll see la.

I can smell the yummilicous Malaysian food now. 6 more days to go. But I have the freaking-annoying ethic essay that I barely finish not even half of it.

And doing my geriatrics in Middlemore does not help either. My flatmates are still sleeping everytime I go out in the morning and probably the are having their afternoon nap or in short, they are already in their rooms when I come home. Annoying eh? And when I want to read the piles of journals that I printed, I would lose all the concentration since the damn tv is in my room. I told you, I need an apartment with a living hall so that I can kick the tv out from my room and I do not have to watch it when I don;t want to. Not always good, you know. It's not always good to have an entertainment machine in your place, especially when it's the only one in the whole apartment.

I must say that the ethic essay is the cause of the stress that I am having this week. I would enjoy the posting even when I have to go home after 5 if ethics essay does not exist. I learn a lot, like a lot a lot, ok like a lottttttttttttttttttttttt during my geriatrics. I am liking it. But my brain is too tired when I have something else in my mind. To add to my misery, I need to format my beloved lappy but I din bring the cd with me. It has been 3 years, but I never did any formatting. So yes, jadik tempat pembiakan virus la system saye ini.

Oh oh. Do you guys wanna know how my ethics essay is doing at the moment?

My ethics essay sounds more like this:

Who cares about the f***ing conscription or informed consent for organ transplantaton from the deceased. They are dead. Leave them to die in peace la weh. [sounded like a Malaysian English now] I don't even care on how you are going to procure the organs. Seriously. It's just another never-ending-topic to be discussed on. Period.

Guess how my assessment is gonna be? Of course disctinction, man. No doubt.

Oh. Being a geek, I have to go to Ida's place to finish my assignment. And now it's 10am on Saturday. I told you, I am a geek.

I have my morning session off. Hence this:

WHAT I THINK ABOUT SOUVENIRS AND PRESENTS AND SOUVENIRS AND PRESENTS.

Because I'm soooooo into presents and souvenirs, (both the buying and receiving parts) I made my own formula. It's what I think. It's what I follow. If you think that you do not have to read this, you are welcomed to click the [x] button on the right top of your screen. :D I am not going to help you on HOW TO CHOOSE a gift for someone. This is just what I think about gifts. It's for everyone. Family. Boyfriend. Girlfriend. Friends. Pet. Strangers.

1) In order for you to buy the right one, you really have to know what he or she likes. Of course. Or else how the hell are you going to know what to buy for them.

2) 4 reasons that I could think of on why gifts are given.

a) You had a glimpse on an item, and you know that someone in your endless-list-of-the-loved-ones will like it and you have to buy it. Yes. If you want to put it in a simple way, it's like the item was made from heaven for them. It's the besterestest reason. And you think that he or she made your day by being the happiest person on earth because of the gift instead of you making their day by giving the presents. Tak paham? Takpe. Ignore.

b) You have to buy a present for x because he or she receives presents from his or her other friends. Hence you feel guilty on not buying one for them. Uh-uh. *geleng pale* It's important for you to be sincere in order for the recipiants to like your present. I personally can sense it if the souvenir is given to me just because it's a tradition. I won't use it. Or I will for him or her to be happy. But the general rule for me is I won't use it if he or she is not here in front of me. Yes, I know. Saye memang menjage ati dan perasaan orang. But I learn my lesson now. Not all the time saye perlu berkorban untuk org lain happy dan saye plak terkial-kial. :D So it depends.

c) You received a birthday present or a souvenir from them, and you think that you have to buy something for them as well. Hurm. Sounds familiar?

d) You bought souvenirs for strangers or should I say someone that you do not know who might he or she be. This is simple. You went for a vacation. And you think that you are expected to buy presents for people around you. But you don't decide which item goes to which individual.

I admit that all the reasons mentioned above tuh I pernah gune. But I won't use the second and the third one to someone who is close to me. Actually I rarely use the second and the third reason. The third one biasenye untuk someone yang I respect. Hurm. Pernah of course but not that often since presents and souvenirs are my passion.

3) Most of the time I will go for the quality. But since I do not have the Bank Negara's manager's son as my boyfriend, I'll go for the price as well. Quality versus price? You have to decide it yourself. It's your money. Not mine. Or if you are money-less, you just have to make your gift. Don't buy them.

I don't know what you think. But I don't decide the value of the gift by looking at the price itself. I appreciate the gift more from someone who is average financially than someone who has all the money in the world. It's the effort that counts. Not the cash that you paid.

4) Jangan berharap for a return favour from them. *kalau I wat camtuh, jawabnye I tak bagik birthday presents lagsung kat orang lain since my birthday is 2 days after the christmas and of course people won't remember. or they do but since it's a holiday, so nahhhh*

I finally finished my 3 days of neurosurgery. I wish that it could be much longer since I practically did nothing and learn something. At least I think so. Muahahaha. Well, I managed to see probably a 1inchx1inch of brain though during craniotomy yesterday. LOL. I think it's interesting if the schedule was much better organized, if we don't have to choose between tutorials and theatre or ward or outpatient clinic. 1 impotant and crucial part that contributed to the fun that I had was the fact that there wasn't even an orang putih in the group. I told you before right, I am in the group whom most of us are going overseas for our selectives. Yes yes, I am loving it. And I think that I have a couple new close Pacific Islander friends. We were probably the slackers group in the world. *grin* Sempoi nak mati. Semua Asian and Pacific Islanders. Cool!

Oh. Have I told you that my ophthalmology written paper was sooooooo freaking hard. Urgh. ~~there goes my NZD1000. hahah~~ I just want to pass. Pleassssseeeeee.

In the afternoon pule, saye bersame rakan2 terchinte menyanyi lagu Bye Bye American Pie version chlamydia conjunctivitis. It was fun though. Presented something in the form of songs. And Jo played guitar. A couple of groups berlakon. We were like a bunch of school kids belakon di hadapan guru-guru. :)

hottest day in 130 years?

Auckland sweltered yesterday in the hottest temperature in more than 130 years - straight after a record-warmest night - but in the south temperatures struggled into the mid-teens.

MetService records show the mercury hit 32.4C at Whenuapai Air Base about 3.30pm, equalling the previous hottest day, recorded at the Auckland Domain in February 1872.

WeatherWatch.co.nz's thermometer went one better, recording an unofficial 34C in West Auckland - a temperature that was fuelled by a hot nor'wester.

WeatherWatch head weather analyst Philip Duncan said although the humidity in Auckland was lower yesterday than on other days, the intense heat and sunnier skies meant it felt more like 38C.

Meanwhile, it was a different story in other parts of the country yesterday. Christchurch and Dunedin only made it to 16C, while Wellington was a pleasant 21C and New Plymouth 22C.

Anywooottt. I had my left pupil dilated yesterday. And this morning. Yes. I had my own triconamide in the bag. Hurm. Today's fundoscopy examination went well. We were asked to draw optic disc with the cup and also the ratio of the cup to the optic and disc. And of course retina vessels. It's not that bad, you know, with the pupil dilated. We can even see the macula. Hahah. Berlagak pulak. Dulu kat imu terkial-kial. Supervisor tanye nampak tak, sume kate nampak. Tapi in ophtalmology we didn;t use fundoscopy that often. Why do we want to use that when we have a slit lamp kan. Menyusahkan diri je.

I am feeling to love ophtalmology sebab jumpe bende2 yang selame ini tengok dalam buku. Let see. With the 3 half-days or 2-3 hours-ish clinic, I saw patients with keratoconus, herpes simplex, HZO, cataract, pterygium, Fusch endothelial dystrophy, acanthamoeba keratitis, dacrocystitis, retinal artery occlusion, strabismus, carcinoma of the limbus, congenital optic nerve atrophy, and nystagmus in albinism. Itu cume dalam 3 clinic sessions je. How amazing was that? And another acute clinic.

Tapi kene belaja untuk exam minggu depan pule. Ah. Ini menyebabkan perut saye lapar.

I am done with general practise 5 th year :). And we decided that we deserve a little vacation. Plus it's a long weekend. You do not want to stay in Auckland during long weekend in the summer. 8 of us. Except for Syed. His sister is gonna be here. Or else it would have been perfect. As in the vacation-er.

I am not telling you guys where are we heading tomorrow. Just wait and see. Oh oh. Excited pule.

Izzah, Ida and I went to pick up the van around 5pm. And little that we know it's going to be a manual car. Luckily Izzah used to practise with her bestfriend. Tapi macam kuda la kan. At least better than me. I drove Paksu's dekat kampung gear 2 pon mati engine. *shhhhh*

Please. I want to learn to drive a manual car. Nanti kamu ajar saye ye.

General practise was ok. But of course I gave myself a bruise when I decided to be Danny's guinea pig for cannulation and venopuncture. Mind you, we had a 6 weeks vacation. And yes. Bruises on Danny's arms as well. It took me nearly 5 minutes to prepare and do a stemetil injection. Hahah. So that was how bad it is la kan.

I am going to start my first day of attachment in the year 2009 in a couple of hours. We had a week of extensive lectures started last Monday. I am doing GP at the moment. Huh. Rasa mcm tak suke. A full sessions of introduction and lectures yesterday in Tamaki campus in which I was having headache for the whole day. I know that I have tension headache once a while, but please la, not for the whole day. Travelling with public transport was not helping either. Urgh. Ye. Sekarang pon masih pening.

My GP partner is Danny. Yeay. A Malaysian. I think more than half in our group are Malaysians. How cool is that huh. We were allocated in the same group this year as we opted to do our selectives overseas. Well, not everyone is going back. Some of us are going to Brisbane as well. Sorry la omputih. Bertahan je la eh. :D

IMU 4th years are starting their orientation this week. And all the Malays are staying in the same building with us. How weird is that eh. I was thinking of moving as soon as I can. But they are moving in. Hurm. Pn Siti called me and asked us a favour untuk tengok students baru. We prepared a set dinner for them and I decided to go to the airport on Monday. Lucky for me, Puteri decided to follow, hence tidak perlu naik bus.

They are lucky I should say. I took the shuttle when I arrived here last year. Heheh.

We planned for a choclocate-boutique-session. Ok ok. I am the one who is craving. But it was cancelled due to a technical problem. Oh my. :( Mahu la chocolate boutique. Haih.

I am on top of the world this week. Why? Number one- sudah setat kelas. Ye saye memang seorang pelajar berdedikasi tak sabar nak setat kelas. Uhum. Classes were so far ok. Not to mention the very interesting immunology lectures that we had today for erm 4 hours. And yes, we did finished the whole neurology book in erm 5 hours? Bagus untuk kesihatan. I totally have forgotten what I learned in IMU though I think I had an A for neurology back in IMU. Oh crap. Those ascending and descending pathways of the brain. I used to love it. It used to be just at the tips of my fingers. A lot of work now. A lot. Ye. Saye juge sudah lupe langsung pasal multiple sclerosis. Mari ramai-ramai kite jentik telinge saye. Uh-uh. Arryhtmia and ECG juge.

Mungkin cuti lain kali harus belajar.

I want to apologize for the inexplicable emotions that I showed for the past few days. It's not something that I want but it happened. I am not expressive, hence the blogging explained. Though some says that I am better in verbalise compared to writting, but it won't help. Maybe I am good in socialising. I tend to smile :) whenever I should not. But still, not expressive.

It's the same person that makes me mad all this while. I think so. Most of the times. But I am still here, pretending nothing happened. Because I do not want to crush the relationship as what lets name 'it' as Waitakere crushes my heart and spoilt my mood. (I can see the signboard to Waitakere on the motorway from my bedroom window here)

Anyway, internet sucks for the past couple of days. It was not the best 2 days in my 23 years of life. Saye putus hubungan dengan sume orang considering that I am alone. Imagine saye pengsan. Oh. Bye.

Ida and I decided to walk to Victoria park yesterday. On the way to the park, we stopped at Skytower souvenir shop and I bought a few key chains to be brought back to Malaysia though I am not sure whether there is any use of buying it since I already had some in my small luggage. Erm.

Being typical us, we had an abrupt idea of walking to Ponsonby and wanted to try the halal Malaysia restaurant. It was erm quite far. We could not resist the Devonport Chocolate and bought ourselves a bar of chocolate to be given to each other as another birthday treat. I had the hazelnut strawberry milk chocolate and Ida wanted to try the chilli lime. Hahah. (I am starting to feeling that I am writing and essay at the moment)

We walked in square and of course a total of more than 5 kilometres. Yes, from ponsonby, we decided to walk to K road.

Hey people. I am officially 23 years old. I am old. :( I am getting more wrinkles and my dark circles are growing as well. Yes, I need to buy a good eye cream. ASAP.

I had brunch (it's at 2pm but apparently the others did not have breakfast and I had a slice of bread before going out) with fiqah jihan kak aida ida and the only guy syed. Thank you guys. Hugs to you guys. I would have spent my birthday lingering down the Queen St alone if it's not because of you guys. I know. Sounded pathetic. And dramatic.

It started with a call from the parents at 12am NZ time as well as an important text. Then another text, and another and another and another and another and another... And a wish from the susah-senang-suka-ria-duka-gila-bosan-sangap-friend for the first half of the lonely summer break, ida. Thank you for the origami 'set'.

I was said of bringing the 'bad luck' of the day when the fire alarm of the restaurant was activated. Hahah. Nope, I don't think so. LOL. Oh by the way, it was a nice Italian restaurant. I lyke. :)

I know it's a bit late to send a letter to you. But at least I am trying. I have been extremely good this year. I did not hit any people physically. And I hope that I did not hurt anyone emotionally too. Ok2. I might tipu in Psychiatry OSCE exam. But we were allocated in the lecture hall and were put into a position in such a way that we can talk to the person next to us. I am sorry for that. Please forgive me.

I hope you can consider on giving me at least 10 items from the list that I would later type. 10 is not that many, you know. You just have to add a zero into 1. And as you can hopefully see, one is the smallest number that you can have. You can just surprise me by putting the present under my bed or into my wardrobe since I don't have a christmas tree or a chimney to hang my red socks on. Another option is by using the efficient New Zealand post or a DHL since you are sending it from the north pole.

I hope that you will receive this letter before the 25th. I know New Zealand is at the southern hemisphere of the earth. So it might take a while for this letter to reach your giant mail box in north pole.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha, readers!

Well, it's not that late (for me). It was just yesterday in New Zealand. Yes, we celebrated our Eidul Adha a day later than Malaysia. Izzah's mom is here. So, there goes the cooking duties. :) Thanks to her. We had a mouth watering nasi himpit, rendang ayam, kuah kacang and lontong. If not because of her, we might have to cook our nasi himpit manually. You know, using the 3 inches medical textbooks. My initial plan was to cook soto. But, nahhh. Not now. Heheh.

Credit to me. We finally get to go to the Eidul Adha prayer. The used-to-be musolla is under construction. We started walking from Whitaker Place, accompanied by the typical-not-so-windy-raining (nah, kidding. rase cam nak melayang ok) and asked the omputih about the new location of the musolla.

I then headed to Jihan's Fiqah's Kak Aida's crib for a small get together session. Thanx for the food. I was really bloated and had to excuse myself earlier.

I had my before-afternoon nap and had myself ready for the job interview. It went quite well. But, they prefer someone that can work longer for them. Not only until January. But, having a good service, they said that they are going to call me within this 1 week to let me know what's the status of the interview. I am keen to work there since it's a multicultural institution. They have a Brazilian, Canadian, a couple of Malaysians and a few more.

Why did I write in a formal way this time. God knows.

Anyway, I just bought a pair of Levis jeans for NZD15. I should have bought 10 pairs kan. I was contemplating on whether I should buy the Levis Black, I repeat, Levis Black or not. I adore it so much and I am pretty sure that I won't get a cheaper price in Malaysia. Obviously, that's not gonna be NZD15.

I also bought myself a sweater for next winter I should say. Shut up. It's winter now in Europe. Who cares?

Izzah and family are now having a road trip. Yes, I am home alone. Probably until Christmas. Or birthday. Who knows..

Done with the paper B. Was hard as hell. ~~macam celaka~~ Rase macam buat Maori and Pacific Health studies instead of MBChB. Did not read the journal at all. And out of sudden, they asked to describe the study method and how the ethnicity was identified. Ape lagik. Mari kite bantai jawab cross-sectional study ramai2. Hahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahah. *tu pon sebab de mention dalam question* I know I know. I am supposed to read and study the journal. But who cares. Like who wants to read the zillions articles that they asked us to study. And past years were easier I should say, and consisted of questions that I could at least crapped. You know, like those ~~stupid~~ behavioural science questions that we did in IMU. In addition to that, they decided to torture us with another Pacific Island question. It's the last day of my surgical run. (means the last day of waking up early in the morning and feeling draggy about going to the not-so-useful surgical ward round.) I know i know. It feels like I just arrived in New Zealand last month. That is how fast time flies. Grrrr

I am such a happy nerd.

I made murtabak for the whole team.

And they love it.

And my boss knows that it's called murtabak.

Mind you, he and another British fellow makan 3 ok!

And my house surgeons and another fellow makan 2.

He even knows that it is supposed to have gravy with it.

Of course my beauty-pigeon partner ate half la kan. :)

I am so lucky that 2 consultants+2 fellows are in Sydney for conference.

And 1 consultant is in Nepal.

If not, it won't be enough for everyone if each of them decide to eat 2 pieces.

brief intro about my consultant
a) a lovely surgeon (i mean it)
b) a good teacher as well
c) worked around the world (u name it, Singapore, Thailand, Philipines, Africa, US, Europe)
d) and he knew im a malaysian just by looking at me (that's how familiar he is with south east asian)
e) he's a cultural 'expert' as well (yes, that's again to show how sensitive he is with other people from other cuntries.)
f) and yes, he's a caucasian

and people, i'm thinking of cekodok pisang or onde-onde
any other suggestions?
and please please please suggests something that won't take much of my time

my current colorectal team consists of
a) 4 consultants including 2 academic staffs (means they know what to expect in a 4th year)
b) 3 fellows
c) 1 registrar
d) 2 house surgeons
e) 2 trainee interns
f) 2 4th years

And yes. We went to our 'big' ward round together at the same time on mondays and fridays. Imagine you being a patient. 14 from the teams and maybe 1 or 2 staff nurses. (me and my partner usually stand behind the curtains unless we feel that there is a chance to tell the academic-consultants that we are there) I know. It's all about pretending. :D

My beauty-pigeon partner (oh she is in fact a real beauty pigeon. miss earth 2007. miss auckland. miss india. miss bla bla) and I were the spotlight of the day when 2 of the consultants kept on calling us in ward round asking questions and teaching stuffs. And as usual, we looked stupid, with all the questions. :)

Being dragged to the coffee break, and not being the biggest fan of flat white, (i prefer mocca i should say), is not the way to maximise our time to study. And we were also in the radiology conference which again, we did not know what we were doing there. Because of the consultants were there, we just decided to be there. You know, to show our faces.

And later in the afternoon, Mr. A suggested to Mr. B to again 'drag' the 4th years to the 'interesting' laparotomy for Krukenberg tumour. And later they asked what is Krukernberg tumour. I know it. I told my partner. (IMU did a good job. My partner and TIs never even heard of it)

We dont wanna go to the surgery. We have better things to do at home like 'study'?

My partner came with a suggestion that we were going to have an 'OSCE practise' so that we could leave earlier from the OT. We didnt wanna scrub in. But my fellow told us that it would be a good experience to scrub in even for a short of time. He also told us that we can leave early if we wanna go for the 'practise' later.

Lucky for us, we had the 'practise' session. The surgery finished at 6-ish pm. Er. More than 5 hours I should say. There were quite a lot of adhesions. So, yup. It took hours for the surgeons to resect the mass. Plus it was and exploration laparotomy.

Oh ok. I have to get back to books.

I am officially a nerd now.
